Questions about buying cars for scrap.

Questions - Do you already have cars for scrap and how to hand them over for scrap?

Handing over cars for scrap is an individual choice. Sometimes the financial motive prevails, other times the sentimental motive. In both cases, the choice is yours and is determined by the costs you make for maintenance - taxes, insurance, fees, consumables, annual inspections, repairs, fuel and more. If you have an old or damaged car, for which the costs of restarting it are unreasonably high, it is better to hand it over for scrap and send it to the traffic police and the municipality, because even stationary in front of the block, on the street or in the yard, it continues to cost you. The first is the road tax for the car, the second is the compulsory civil liability insurance.

To hand over your cars for scrap you need to call us. That's all that is required of you. After contacting our employee, he will explain the procedure in detail and you will be able to ask him your questions. You will specify the price for which we will buy your car for scrap. We will arrange a date and time at which it will be convenient for you to come to the address you specified.

Questions…

What price would I take and how much will the transport cost me?

The price of a car for scrap is determined mainly by the weight of the metals in it. It is known in advance and you will learn it by telling us what is the make and model of your car. Different companies buying cars for scrap offer different prices, but rarely differ significantly. On the day of delivery, we will inspect the integrity of the car and in the absence of metal parts we will deduct them from the weight of your car and its price.

The transportation of your car for scrap is entirely at the expense of Tsvetmetal EOOD. On the day of delivery, you will receive the agreed amount without deducting from it the cost of transport, processing documents…. or the like. We are committed to transporting your cars for scrap to temporary storage and then to dismantling sites.

Questions…

Questions - When is the money received and how long does the procedure take?

The money for the car you handed over for scrap, you receive immediately, on the spot when loading your car. An employee of Tsvetmetal EOOD will inspect for shortages of metal parts, engine, gearbox, starters… and if everything is available, you will receive the full agreed amount. You will also receive a document for the completed financial transaction.

On the appointed day we will come by repatriation truck. An employee of Tsvetmetal EOOD will inspect the car for scrap. He will check the serial numbers of the coupe and the engine to see if they match those on the vehicle's control slip. Will inspect for missing metal parts, engine, gearbox, starters. If all goes well, we will load the car for scrap and pay you the agreed amount. We will issue you the necessary documents for deregistration in the Traffic Police and the necessary fiscal documents. We will remove and hand over the control numbers from your car, if they have not been removed. All this takes about 20-30 minutes.

Questions - How to deregister in the traffic police, the car handed over for scrap and can I remove parts of my car?

You go to the traffic police with the metal numbers of the car, the control and coupons - large and small, the document issued by us for the purchase of the car for scrap, your ID card…. and of course money. There the traffic police officers will tell you what their procedure is. After the deregistration of your car in the traffic police, go to your municipality to write it off from there.

Yes, your car is yours and you can do whatever you want with it, but the weight of the missing metal items from your car for scrap will be deducted from the total and this will reduce the agreed price for it.

Questions - What happens to my car after I hand it over and are there any penalties if I do not hand over my car for scrap?

All scrap cars are transported to a temporary storage facility for scrap cars. Then all liquids and substances dangerous for the environment are removed from it: fuel, oil, antifreeze, wiper fluid, brake fluid, etc. If there is an air conditioner, the refrigerant is drained from the system. Already secured cars are scrutinized for reusable auto parts that are dismantled, cleaned and tested. The rest of the car is disassembled. The individual metals and materials are stored in the appropriate containers: metals / ferrous, non-ferrous - aluminum, copper, bronze, brass… /, plastics, glass, rubber, textiles…. Finally, the containers go to the appropriate recycling centers. Items that are not recyclable are transported to the appropriate storage sites.

Under our law, you are subject to a penalty if you do not scrap your cars. Once it has been stopped but not scrapped, written off by the traffic police and the municipality, your car is potentially dangerous to the environment. If it is in a public place you can be sanctioned.
